Eligibility
Who is Eligible and How do Applicants Get Help?
- They must complete an application stating their income level, age, and circumstances.
- List items that need attention...from things as simple as grab bars for bathroom to roofing, plumbing and electrical concerns.
We verify that the applicant owns or is buying their home and lives in Henderson county, then:
- Volunteers who can do the work will screen the applicant and the property to see if job is the type that Labor of Love can handle with its resources.
- We prioritize the requests/work. Safety and health issues are our primary concern. We do not approve items which are purely cosmetic in nature (indoor painting, for instance).
- If we think we can accomplish the repairs we ask the applicant to sign a release and then add the job to our schedule of work.
